Starting his training at the age of six, Kushagra followed a strict routine. Initially a pure batter, he later took up wicketkeeping, drawing inspiration from Jharkhand’s iconic figure, MS Dhoni. Kumar Kushagra’s Domestic Career Kushagra’s rise through the ranks has been marked by record-breaking performances and consistency across formats. His first major breakthrough came in the 2019 Vinoo Mankad Trophy, where he finished as the leading run-scorer with 535 runs. This performance earned him a place in India’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 World Cup. Making his Ranji Trophy debut for Jharkhand against Delhi in February 2022, he quickly entered the record books in his very first season. In a preliminary quarter-final against Nagaland, Kushagra produced a monumental innings of 266 off 269 balls, becoming the youngest batter in First-Class history to score 250-plus runs, surpassing a decades-old record held by Javed Miandad.
