His cricketing journey began with his selection for the West Indies Under-19 squad in the 2014 World Cup, where he showcased early glimpses of his potential. Motie honed his skills across formats, playing first-class cricket for the Windward Islands in the 4-Day competition and representing Guyana in limited-overs formats.
