Standing at 6 feet 6 inches , the lanky pacer from Colombo is known for his ability to extract steep bounce on any surface, adding an extra dimension to Sri Lanka’s pace arsenal. A bowler with a complete T20 skill set — swing both ways, clever change of pace, deceptive slow bouncers, and pinpoint yorkers — Binura brings variety and control to the shortest format. His early promise was evident in the 2014 U-19 World Cup , a performance that earned him a call-up to the senior squad for the Test series against Pakistan the same year. Though yet to debut in Tests or ODIs, he has been on the national radar for years. Fernando made his T20I debut against Pakistan in 2015 , claiming 3 wickets in the two-match series. Since then, injuries and competition have limited his international appearances, but his potential remains undoubted.
