Megan Schutt is one of Australia’s premier fast bowlers and a key figure in the team’s white-ball success over the past decade. Known for her athleticism, sharp swing, and pinpoint accuracy, Schutt's rise was meteoric. She began her domestic career in the 2009–10 season as a 16-year-old with the South Australian Scorpions in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL), quickly earning a reputation for her control and pace. She made her international debut in 2012 against New Zealand but truly announced herself at the 2013 ICC Women’s World Cup in India, finishing as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 15 wickets and playing a crucial role in Australia's title win. Later, she was also instrumental in Australia's Ashes win in 2015 – their first in England in 14 years. Schutt continued to evolve as a bowler, and in 2017–18, became the first Australian woman to take a T20I hat-trick, achieving the feat during the tri-nation series in India.
